Personal Statement

I started rowing as a freshman in the spring of 2021. I wanted to row because my fifth-grade gym teacher told me I would be good at it, and four years later I decided to try it. I was afraid to try something new, especially something so team oriented because I had been swimming all my life and it is a very solo sport. However, I fell in love with rowing. Not only was rowing something I was good at, but the team became a big part of my life. I love to row because it allows me to be the best version of myself, work hard, reach goals, and create lasting bonds and memories with people I care about. While being on a well-bonded team is important to me, I also value challenging work and striving to win. I think doing the best that you can is a win if getting first place comes with it, that‘s great and if it doesn’t it gives me one more thing to work for.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
