Jessica Vasquez-Luna '24 Recruiting Profile

Hey coaches!! I’m Jessica and I’m from Alexandria, Virginia. I love rowing so much and I’m so glad you’re seeing my account! I am a fast learner as I started rowing this past spring, my junior year. I’m very committed and went to every single winter conditioning practice in preparation and truly fell in love with the sport as soon as I got on the boat.  I worked hard and advanced quickly to  keep up with my teams Varsity 2 boat so we could compete competitively, earning us a 6th place overall at the Stotesbury Cup 23’!! (Me being 6 seat) I know I will have to work hard and in preparation for higher level rowing I am doing fall rowing under Old Dominion Boat Club this fall! With highly competitive 8s, 4s and scullers. As well as working in the off-season in the weight room and on the erg. I’ve always known people who row and have been super interested in the sport and once I decided to finally try it I wound up loving it!! I am a hard worker and know all about team work from the past three years in my schools Marching Band who had less than ideal experiences with directors, so cooperation and collaboration was quickly established and shown. I really want to continue my rowing journey in college and am ready and excited to see where I can go given the opportunity! and of course be in contact so I know what I have to do to make that happen.
