Hi coaches! My name is Abby Putnam, from Arlington, Virginia. I am a great candidate for your team because I'm indefatigable, dedicated, encouraging, and passionate about crew. I love crew because it is a very challenging sport not only physically but mentally as well. Ever since I started my coxing career I’ve noticed how fulfilling it is in many areas of my life. It has helped me connect to so many new people and create amazing connections and bonds with this incredible community. I'm also a well-rounded student and I will bring not only academic skills but musical, and athletic skills to your team as well. I am currently a sophomore at Yorktown High School, and I have taken a total of four intensified classes and seven AP classes. In my free time away from school and crew, I love playing my cello with my quartet and with my private teacher. I have played the cello for about seven years and I was selected for the APS Honors orchestra three times. Along with doing orchestra, I also participate in my school’s all girls treble choir. Aside from that, I am currently in the midst of my winter and spring season and I am working hard and I am super excited for what the future bestows!
