I was really young when I first began swimming and I quickly fell in love with it. My family would go to the beach and the pool and play around and I loved it. One day I was in my community pool swimming in the lap pool with my mother, and the coach of that team asked my father why I wasn't on the team. My father had to tell the coach that I was only four years old. The next year I joined that team and two years later I joined my club team. I have been with the same club and summer teams for my entire swimming career. I also swim for my high school team. I'm always surrounded by loving and supportive influences including my parents, sisters, and coaches from all my teams, and it has helped me not only grow as a swimmer but as a person as well.
Swimming takes up a lot of time, but I still find time to enjoy everyday things like riding my bicycle and reading. Right now I am enjoying the process of learning how to drive and eventually obtaining my license so my dad won't have to get up and take me to early morning practices. One thing I especially enjoy doing is working with children, specifically infants. I love babysitting and have been taking a child development class for the past two years that I look forward to every day. Eventually when I graduate from college, I would like to be in a work field that combines my love of children and health/science.
