My name is Mikayla James, and I love all things athletics! In elementary school, I played every sport available while playing club soccer. In high school, I determined that my true passion is soccer. I left behind all other sports and became solely dedicated to my club and high school teams. Being on the soccer field is therapeutic to me. The physicality of the game helps me to clear my mind of anything that has been weighing heavily. I love reading the field to see where the next pass should go or how it will be played out. I am not afraid to use all parts of my body to control the ball. My favorite alternative is my head, but I am skilled with my left foot, too. Everyone on the sidelines knows how much I love the game because I literally smile as I run the ball down the field, so much so that I am called "Hollywood" by some of the parents. I know that competitive soccer will not and cannot last forever. Because I love athletics, in college I want to study the human body and how it works as far as musculature and physical training. Although I am undecided in a major, I do know that I want to do something in the athletic field, whether that be physical therapy or athletic training.
