Jaden Hickey '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches,  My name is Jaden Hickey. I'm a 15-year-old enrolled in Heritage Woods Secondary School in British Columbia, Canada. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and have grown up loving the game. I play as a goalie and played 4 years in Fraser Valley at the BCSPL level and now play at Premier Soccer Acadamy in search of new opportunities. 

I aspire to continue my love for the game in a college or university setting. Something that would set me apart from other players in my work ethic and teamwork skills. I am confident that these skills will help carry me to be the best of my ability and continue to carry me to be a strong player at the post-secondary level.  After highschool I want to attend a post secondary institution and receive a masters in a science, I then hope to achieve my goal and attend medical school where I can hopefully work towards my dream job which is a cardiologist . 

Over the years I have developed a deeper understanding of hard work, teamwork, and time management.  As a student-athlete, these skills have helped me in many different ways. On the field, I work very well in a team setting and understand that your goals need to be achieved with hard work and dedication.  I take feedback from my teammates and coaches and apply them to my game to see improvements and collaborate with my teammates to understand the game better and find new ideas. I have a good view of the game and strive to help my team by being vocal on the field and help direct the team.  I enjoy my responsibility as a keeper and seeing my hard work pay off and my goals achieved. 

Academically, I am very hard working and hold a GPA of 4.0. In class, I am focused and work hard to produce a product that is the best of my ability. My assignments are always handed in on time and done with care and detail. I have received Honours with Distinction in grade 9 as well as teachers pride. I'm very proud and grateful for these achievements because they reflect that hard work and dedication pays off and that my goals can be achieved. 

I plan to continue to improve as a player and as a person and work hard towards my goals no matter how hard they may seem.  I intend to carry my skills and work towards improving them and working on new ones in hope that it will make me a stronger person.  In conclusion, I am a hardworking, team-player who is determined and excited to show you why I deserve a position at your school.
