Brittany Holden '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Brittany Holden and I am a class of 2023 forward and attacking midfielder. I have always loved the intensity, passion, and physical contact of the game. I also find the strategical part of the game interesting and challenging, as I continue to build upon my strength in this area. I started playing AYSO soccer at five years old, and from there, my passion for soccer began. Now, I want to play soccer for as long as I possibly can. 

I am currently on the ECNL Del Mar Sharks U-17 team and look forward to my upcoming spring season. This last season in varsity high school soccer (with Granite Hills HS) I was awarded 1st Team All-CIF D1, the Golden Boot award, and the Three-year Varsity Letter Winner Award. During my Freshman year on Varsity, we won our D1 conference and were D1 CIF finalists. 

Getting the opportunity to play on the Surf Select National Team in 2021  was such an influential experience. It was amazing to play with and against girls who love soccer and want to take it to the next level. During this exhibition, we played three top level teams from Florida: (1) FKK ECNL 04 (tie 1-1), (2) FKK ECNL 05 (tie 2-2), and (3) Liverpool 04 (win 5-2). Throughout this event, I mainly played attacking midfield and forward; I also started 2/3 games we played, scored twice, and gave one assist. 

When most people watch professional and college soccer players play, they don't realize how much hard work went in to get them to where they are today. I work hard to focus all of my attention on not just soccer, but also school because I aspire to pursue a career in the medical pathway (I am currently setting my eyes on veterinary medicine). Although at times it can be difficult to find time for both, I remind myself to stay motivated and driven in order to reach my goals.
