My name is Ava Fontanilla and I'm currently a freshman at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Arizona and looking to transfer. I've played soccer my entire life and most recently have been playing recreationally with my school's club team while balancing my academics. Prior to this, I played for Fremont Youth Soccer Club (FYSC) in Northern California as a center back and center defensive midfielder. Some of my accomplishments at FYSC include being selected as the Women's Senior Team Club Captain and holding various leadership positions within the club's coaching, outreach, and volunteer programs .
As a center back, I pride myself in organization of the back line and creating opportunities for the team to attack. I’m a leader on and off the field and feel the need to support my teammates to the best of my abilities on and off the field too. I am dedicated, hard-working, and passionate with all my endeavors. In addition to the expectations I hold myself accountable for in soccer, I dedicate myself to my studies and extra-curricular activities that support my dream of becoming an aerospace specialized test engineer. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement and I look forward to working with you to achieve my goals.
