Devki Anjaria '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Devki Anjaria and I am an attacking midfielder for the Class of 2022. My passion for soccer began at an early age and I have been playing soccer for 11 years now. I have played for numerous competitive teams and currently play for the NPL and Girls Academy level for Santa Clara Sporting. I am also a starter for my high school varsity team which I have played in since freshman year. 

My goal for my soccer career is to continue playing in college and beyond. Watching the Premier League and La Liga with my family every weekend, I aspire to play at a professional level like that, while maintaining good academics. 

On the field, I am very hardworking and focused. I have the willingness to improve regardless of how well I play and I always want to be the best for the team. Injuries during my high school years taught me how to take care of my body and the importance of implementing rest days in my schedule. Each time, I come out stronger both mentally and physically ready to play again. As a midfielder, I am really creative on the field and I want to set up the best chances for my teammates as well as score goals to win. 

My attitude on the field makes me a better person off the field as well. My determination to get things done is evident inside classrooms, as I make sure to get all my work done and pay attention in all my classes. My competitive mentality comes into play during competitions like DECA, where I strive to place and make my school proud. Marketing and Entrepreneurship are two fields I am particularly interested in, having already been exposed to the subjects through camps over summer. 

All in all, I really hope to get recruited so that I can continue to pursue my passion at the college level. Soccer means a lot to me as it has taught me a lot in the past, and I can’t wait to see what it teaches me in the future. Soccer makes me a better person because of all the lessons it teaches me and I enjoy all the experiences. I hope to attend a school where I can excel in both academics and athletics.
