Hello, My name is Ryan Calkins. I am a 2025 attacking midfielder/forward playing for Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta, CA and Ventura Surf 06 Club in Ventura CA. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and have a love and passion for this sport that has driven me to be the best soccer player I can be. I work hard, love being on a team and play with a huge heart. I recently made captain of my high school team and am excited for the upcoming club and high school seasons.
I work very hard in school, focusing much of my off the field time to studying and relaxing with friends and family. I hope to continue playing soccer well beyond my college career and am interested in the sciences, hoping to become an athletic trainer, physical therapist or environmental scientist. I have been described as fast, agile and athletic and my nickname is the Little Tank. My college aspirations are to be challenged both on and off the field. I thrive in a high level of play and feel a competitive athletic and scholastic school would fit me best. I also love being on a team and appreciate what being a cohesive unit can do for play on the field and friendships off the field.
I made the varsity team as a freshman and received the Charger Award for always working hard and never giving up. This same year, Dos Pueblos High School won the 2021-2022 Girls Soccer CIF Southern Section Academic Award. I broke my collar bone colliding with the opponents goalie at the beginning of the 2022-2023 season, but have since fully recovered and am back stronger than ever with bones of steel, literally! Looking forward to the upcoming season!
