I am Aleah Matute. I am rewriting this as a junior Class of 22, because recently I have been struggling as many of us are during this Covid quarantine along with an ACl & Meniscus injury. As what i thought would be the end of my soccer career, wasn’t because I took a long mental note on deciding what to do as I am a junior and missed my whole season due to this. I knew I didnt want to be another sad sob story on how I could’ve done this and that but I tore my meniscus ect. I want to be the girl and will be the girl that did achieve everything she wanted And on top of that had an acl injury. I’m currently 6 weeks post op and I feel great about my recovery and miss being on the field but I’m slowly getting back into it. This is the start of my new chapter in soccer because this won’t define me as a player but will only push me to become the best version of myself. This is just one of many challenges I’ve had to push past in my career of soccer and this definitely won’t be my last.
Soccer has been a BIG part of my life and always will be. As young as five years old i began my soccer journey, I've played in select for AYSO, and as to multiple club teams. I now play as a high school varsity starter Captain. I can play everywhere on the field but mainly 11,7,9,&3 because of my speed and aggressiveness.
I’ve come a long way over the years. I have taken many breaks in between my years due to family issues. However, that didn't stop me i put dedication, time, and patience into my skills, to develop to become the player I am today. Soccer is my obsession and my passion. I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I want to become one of the best and challenge myself everyday not just on the field but in my school courses. I’ve always maintained a GPA higher than a 3.8 because i know i have the tools to excel and become a better person in all.
I was well born into soccer, my sisters played soccer as well did my brother. I loved it i remember when i was very little i had a lot of energy and would run up and down the field to get the ball , and the coach would always tell me you can stay in the position u don't have to go all the way up and down but i never listened and would run nonstop. I think that's when i knew i loved soccer. I was always a nervous shy kid when i was little i remember i had this one coach that i'll never forget what he said to me that day ¨that risks are necessary to progress without that ur doing the same thing everyday and expecting change and that's insanity¨ i've always carried that through my years of soccer.
Academics have always been an important thing in my family my brother and sisters always had good grades so my moms expectations are very high for me to keep all As. I don't get straight A's just for my family though i do it because i want to go to college and major in criminal justice to be a detective/investigator or to be a forensic science technician. Criminal Justice has always intrigued me and let alone to be a major i am very excited to pursue this major in college as well as to play soccer at a challenging level.
Soccer not only is an activity I thrive for its more like a personal thing that drives me when I put my cleats on and step onto the turf, with a determined mindset to win. This journey/career is just the beginning to something great and I will do everything in my favor to make sure it happens.NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the exclusive athletic recruiting network that educates, assists, and connects, families, coaches and companies so they can save time and money, get ahead and give back.
