Aleena Galvan '24 Recruiting Profile

Growing up in a sports centered home, with two athletic parents, the path was laid out for me. However, there comes a moment when you realize it’s more than just a dream, soccer is my passion, it is my life, it is all I ever wanted. 

The dreams of going to college, the dreams of an athletic scholarship and taking the opportunity to play the game I love on a higher level is what drives me.  I could never imagine the uncertainty of the road ahead. My hard work, dedication, commitment, and sacrifice have led me to these defining moments. I will go to college and I will play ball. I am a student athlete. My sole focus is to take my dedication and skill set to the collegiate level. 

My high school academic coursework, extracurricular activities, and soccer experience reflect my goals, purpose, and passion. On and off the field, I have exhibited my true grit by maintaining an above average GPA in Honors and Advanced Placement courses, contributing to my school community via extracurriculars including student leadership, and lettering in Varsity Soccer my sophomore year in high school. As a member of the LAFC-SCV team in Santa Clarita, California, we took the 2022 Man City Cup Championship, and currently compete at the NPL level. 

Attending a 4 year university is all I’ve ever wanted and I plan to do all that it takes to get there. I have the privilege of a supportive family who has sacrificed time, money, and our lives to see me excel on and off the field. Although supportive, all families come with challenges, growing up with a special needs brother, and trying to find my place in a program suited to my growing development and advanced skill set… The obstacles have been plenty and overcoming them will always be the goal. Through my journey of academic rigor and athletic development, I have been broken, and I have found my strength. I have the determination to distinguish myself as a student athlete at an advanced educational institution.
