I started playing soccer when I was five years old and ever since then I’ve always loved the sport. The year 2020 challenged that love for soccer for many players including myself. While many players decided soccer wasn’t for them, the long break made me realize I still love the sport. With so much uncertainty you want someone on your team who is sure and confident that they want to play.
As a three-sport athlete and diverse soccer player, I have learned to wear many hats. Goalkeeper is a difficult position to play because I need to read the entire field, think several plays ahead, and communicate with my team on the field. As a previous field player, that gives me the foot skills that are not common in goalkeepers and gives me a better understanding of what field players are thinking. Although athletics are very important, academics will always be my priority. My goal is to maintain a 4.0 or above GPA through high school and college. Balancing academics and sports in high school is challenging, but I have learned that I am well organized and determined to persevere to accomplish my goals. I know that I have the capabilities and the skills that any coach would want on their team.
