Hi my name is Siena Stueland, I'm in the class of 2021, and I've been playing soccer ever since I was 4 years old. I'm highly determined, heavily passionate for soccer, and willing to work for success. My whole life I've endured and overcame the obstacles in my path, from having two avulsion fractures on both sides of my hips, having a severe form of Osgood Schlatters Disease on both of my knees, to even a Meniscal Tear on my right knee, I have come to understand every minute on the field counts, because it might be your last. I just started high school this past fall, and have been able to decide that when I grow up I would like to be in a field relating to sports medicines, kinesiology, and/or biotechnology. The fields of math and science have always been my favorite subjects, and I hope to be able to excel in those in the future as well.
I've been known to push myself to the brink, even when I should stop, academically and even physically on the field, and it's the best achievement in my life. I first started soccer only because my mom wanted me to have a hobby as a child, and it grew to be apart of the rest of my life. My motivation drives me harder than anyone I've seen in my life, and my family is a big inspiration towards my motivation to succeed.
Once I recovered from my avulsion fractures, I was able to come back to start and play for Lowell High School Varsity Soccer Team, as well as competing with my club team Marin FC 03G, and getting picked for the 2003CalNorth ODP Girls Team. When I'm on the field, I've always been able to find a way to move the ball forward, to communicate with my team mates, and anticipating plays against the defense. This sport has made me realize how strong I am, and has given me the confidence and drive to persevere in life, and to fix and move on from past mistakes.
I have no limits to my goals, and I just want to keep going up and achieving what I can, because soccer challenges me and I'm proud to say I play it.
