Hi! I will be graduating from University High School in Fresno, California this coming spring of 2015. I am a generally serious, reserved, and goal driven person, but I still love to laugh and surround myself with great people. I am told that I am often too hard on myself and so loosening up is something I try to improve at. I am easy to get along with and I try my best to go with the flow.
I would like to be a part of a campus with good vibes and try to add to the positive environment. I do well in school. My charter high school is ranked 7th in California. It is located on Fresno State University's campus and as part of our curriculum, we take Fresno State classes along side the college students. Over the past three years I have taken 5 college classes in addition to my APs. I currently have a 4.2 GPA and I work really hard to juggle all of my activities, such as speech and debate, and still keep my grades high. I am an involved student, a part of a variety of school activities, and I hope to bring my assets to college.
I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember and I love being on the field. I strive to continuously become a better player and master the game through hard work during practices and matches. I would consider myself a coachable kid because I try to accurately respond to feedback given to me. Because my high school focuses on intense academics and the arts, we do not have any sports teams. Therefore, I know how work incredibly hard during the time that I do get on the field. I am not the loudest person in the world and I therefore work to gain respect and attention by the way in which I act and play rather than being vocal. Being louder is something that is easier for me as I get more comfortable with my surroundings. Breaking out of my comfort zone is something I am trying to improve at.
I take achievement seriously. I am a starter for my current club team Bullard United at the left outside defensive mid. I am a fairly flexible player. However, I prefer playing on the outside where I have more space available to me. I like to use my teammates to move the ball and create spaces rather than take the ball alone. I like to play simple, but clean and sharp. I have the mannerisms of a hard worker because I am very determined to reach my goals. I think that my drive and desire to do well encourages my team mates to continue working hard also.
I'm so excited to begin to pursue a life beyond high school.
