I don’t remember a lot when I was five years old, but I do remember the feeling of scoring my first goal. From being extremely overcome with excitement when my teammates or I completed a good play or scored, I have always been a big advocate for supporting one another. I am always looking for ways to improve and become the best version of me; on and off the soccer field. For example, I prioritize many things in my life beyond soccer - school, family, nutrition, ect. Because of who I am off the soccer field, I am aware that my sport does not define me. Soccer has always been a passion, but mainly because it is something to exert my drive, determination, and strong willed qualities on. Therefore, when someone asks me, “Why do you enjoy soccer?”, I will always be overcome with the same feeling from scoring my first goal.
