Volleyball is a huge passion of mine. In fact, when I asked my parents if I could play club volleyball in middle school, they said no. The following year was the same. So the third year I secretly completed the online tryout form and found my own ride to and from tryouts. I ended up making the #2 team (out of 9 in my age group) before I even made it home that day and went on to compete that year in the USA division of JNCs. By the following season I had advanced to the #1 team and competed in the Open Division of JNCs.
I give everything in life 110%. I've been fortunate to compete at the GJNC each year of playing club volleyball. I'm a Girl Scout Ambassador working on a Gold Award, a leader in a national charity organization, and a four time recipient of the Presidential Service Award, Gold Level, which is awarded by the Office of US President. In 2018 my high school won the Rio Hondo League Championship for the first time in 28 years and I was featured in four editions of our local newspaper as a big contributor to that win.
I would describe myself as a loyal friend who loves to laugh and spend time with friends and family. I aspire to make an impact in the field of medicine some day, especially one that will make medicine more accessible to the under franchised and underinsured populations. I am looking for a college that will challenge me both athletically and academically. I am most interested in colleges in California and the Northeast, but happy to consider other areas as well. I am adventurous and look forward to living in a different city and climate during college!
