My name is Juliet Savage. I am the class of 2023, and I play any of the forward positions. I have been playing soccer since I was five years old, and still to this day get excited and eager to compete. I have been playing competitive soccer since I was ten years old, and was on the Northern California ODP and PDP teams at age eleven. Two and a half years ago I tried out for California Thorns DA team, and made the team. I learned a possession style of play which was novel to me at the time. My time on the California Thorns DA team I was coached by Matt Marques, Brandi Chastain, Paul Bravo, and Eric Yamomoto. At Thorns I grew in many different ways; soccer IQ, technical ability, social interactions, and height. I transferred from California Thorns DA team in 2020 to the West Coast Wildkatz mostly because the practice facility and the games were 90 miles from our home one way. This decision was also made in the setting of the DA organization folding. West Coast Wildkatz plays a long ball format, which I had played all my soccer career until going to Thorns. I'm very comfortable playing either style, and I'm willing to do whatever is needed for my team or whatever is required by my coaches. I am curious, ask questions and I think my greatest quality both as a student and athlete is being "teachable."
It is also very important to me that I take full advantage of academics in college. My goal is to become a doctor, and I know that requires hard work and dedication. Dedication, hard work, and persistence are just a few qualities needed to be successful in both my academic and athletic aspirations. My GPA is currently 4.1, with my AP honors classes my goal is to improve that to over a 4.1 by the time I graduate high school. With both my parents being doctors I have learned that education and academics takes priority over almost everything. I find being a "flexible" athlete and student has become one of my greatest qualities.
Personal growth, Soccer and academics are very important to me, and I'm looking for a school that affords me the opportunity to maximize my potential and grow in both these arenas.
