Soccer has been a very important aspect of my life for about 12 years. I started playing when I was four years old, and have been playing ever since. My love and passion for the game has only gotten stronger as I have gotten older. From starting out on AYSO teams, to advancing into club and travel play, and making it into the US Soccer Development Academy level, I have experienced and learned so many values and lessons that have contributed to my skills as a player on the field as well as my character off the field. Hard work, perseverance, and commitment is what has brought me to the level that I am at today.
I am an aggressive, physical, and hard-working player. I believe that the qualities I possess off the field help my play on the field. I am very coachable and try to implement what I learn in practice into the game. My effort, commitment, and drive for success as well as my never-ending desire to be a better player makes me a valuable player.
During my freshmen year of high school, I was the only freshmen to make varsity of my class, and became the second freshmen in school history to make the varsity team. I started in every game and received the Best Defensive Player award, along with the Scholar Athlete Award. The next soccer season I made an academy team and I have been playing at the academy level ever since. Soccer is very important to me, but my academics are a priority. I hold a 4.4 cumulative GPA and I have taken many honors and AP classes. Along with keeping up with my schoolwork, I am involved in many clubs and community service organizations, as well as participating in the California Certificate of Merit program for piano.
I am looking for a challenge both athletically and academically. I am excited to pursue the opportunity to play soccer in college and continue my soccer career immersed in an academically rewarding experience.
