Thanks for reading my profile! I am Ashleigh Williams. I live in a small town and love my community, school, and family. I play club soccer for Colorado Rush (DPL) in Denver, CO. I play high school soccer for Northridge High School (5A/4A) because soccer is not a sport available at my high school. I started high school soccer in 2020 as a Varsity/JV swing keeper and am anticipating to be the starting keeper for my final season this spring. We have been league champions and made a run for the state title the past several years. We are enthusiastic that this year we can reach the 2023 championship game.
Traveling to nearby locations in order to play soccer has provided opportunities to be a part of many teams and groups of peers throughout my life. I travel with my club team, practice with keepers throughout Northern Colorado, and train in the off-seasons with my high school teammates. I’ve made lasting friendships that bridge beyond my small town. I am also involved at Eaton High School where I play varsity basketball (3A), am a member of the Belle Voce women’s audition choir, and participate in school activities and clubs. I am currently the Student Body President and in the National Honors Society. I take my schoolwork seriously and am working hard to maintain a 4.0 or better GPA. I am taking advanced science and math courses and pursuing an honors diploma. EHS has many elective choices and I've had the opportunity to take courses like STEM and Spanish that provide a foundation for pursuing a college degree.
I am looking for a college that offers a strong engineering program. Even before I played soccer, I built things out of anything I could get my hands on. I’m excited to enter a field where I can solve wicked problems and draw on my creativity and love for building and designing. I am also motivated as a woman to make an impact in the field. I seek a college experience where I can balance the expectations of being a collegiate varsity athlete and an engineering major.
I am a goalkeeper. My personality and dedication to the sport go hand in hand with the identity of a keeper, and I have responsibility of leadership on my team to ensure that we all play together as a unit. In addition to sound technical skills and passion, I have a strong verbal presence on the field, which I use to encourage and direct my teammates. I believe I support my team with sharp decision-making and field vision. I also have consistent distribution, strong hands, and a good range and speed for shot-stopping.
I aspire to become a successful college student and athlete so that I can contribute positively to my team, community, and have an impact on the larger world. I will bring energy, passion, tenacity, and a rigorous work ethic to your team.
I look forward to talking with you soon.
