My name is Giuliana Stolfi and I am a Senior at Newington High School, in Newington, Connecticut. I started playing soccer when I was 4 years old. When I got older, I started playing travel soccer. I started to really excel and wanted to bring myself to the next level, so when I was around 11 years old I joined a premier club called Foundation Soccer Club located in New Britain, Connecticut . Playing with this club brought my soccer IQ and my skills to a whole new level and I fell in love with the game even more. I started my soccer career off as a center midfielder but then overtime I became a center back. Since I am fast and a great offensive minded defender I finally found my main position as an outside back defender. For my high school team, I play right outside back as well. I earned a starting spot my freshman year and have started every game since. My freshman year, I was recognized with the “Unsung Hero” award for my defensive work, leadership and communication skills on and off the field. Freshman and Sophomore year I was also recognized as an All Conference player. On the field I am always the loudest one giving out information and communicating with my teammates. I feel that my constant communication on the field has truly shaped me into the soccer player I am today. I also play lacrosse in the spring for my high school team. It allows me to keep my endurance up for soccer while also having fun competing. I look forward to following my dreams ever since I was a young girl, to continue to play soccer at the collegiate level.
