My dream is to play soccer at a college or university with a competitive team and challenging academics where I can push myself on and off the field. Ever since I played goalkeeper for the first time as a fifth grader, I have worked hard to make my dream come true and become the scholar athlete I am today. Hard work, persistence, determination and teamwork define who I am.
This year, as starting goalie on my high school varsity soccer team, I was thrilled to contribute to the team's winning the 2017 CIAC LL State Championship. This achievement was history making because the Ridgefield High School Varsity Girls Soccer Team had never before won the award. In the semi-final game for the state championship, I was awarded the MVP. This season, I helped contribute to 13 shutouts and 67 saves. Currently, I have a 60% save average and a .75goals against average. Being part of a team is very important to me and I have enjoyed doing everything I can to help the younger players feel comfortable and included. I want to leave behind the legacy of a strong team and I hope a winning one!
With the same competitive spirit and work ethic, I have challenged myself in the classroom by taking the most difficult courses my high school offers while maintaining a GPA of 4.7 weighted (out of 4.5). As a junior, I am taking 4 AP and 2 Honors classes: AP Calculus BC, AP Biology, AP Physics II, AP US History, Honors English and Honors Spanish IV. As a sophomore, I received a 5 in AP World History and a 4 in AP Physics I. My ACT score is a 34 and my PSAT score is a 1470.
My statistics tell only part of who I am; for my Girl Scout Gold Award Project I am working with the Danbury Family Learning Center to help promote educational equity for children in disadvantaged communities.
As a goalkeeper, I will always play my heart out for the exhilaration of success and knowing I did my best, but I also just love the fun of playing soccer.
