Two important highlights of my soccer career to date were winning the 2016 CT Cup with my club team (Beachside Soccer Club) and making the Varsity team as a freshman in High School.
The CT Cup tournament gave me the opportunity to win a prestigious competition with my teammates. It also taught me the value of perseverance and conditioning as we won the title game in the final minutes when the other team began to tire. From there we went to the regionals where we performed well but, unfortunately, were not able to advance. It was disappointing but it served as motivation to work even harder and improve my skills to help my team win in the future when we have the opportunity.
I trained hard during the summer to prepare for high school tryouts and was rewarded with a spot on the varsity squad, which was a strong team with high expectations. The coaches asked me to switch positions from center defensive mid to right mid/forward to take advantage of my speed and athleticism. By mid-season I worked my way into the starting line-up and subsequently scored eight goals in the season. Our team had a good year, making it to the semi-finals of the conference tournament (FCIAC) and the quarter-finals of the state tournament, where I was the only player on our team to score a goal in the run of play against eventual champion and nationally ranked Glastonbury High School.
I am highly competitive and equally focused on athletics and academics, so I am looking for a school that will allow me to contribute and excel in both areas. I believe I have the skills to contribute significantly to a Division I program - speed, ball skills, field vision, leadership and relentless competitiveness.
