Soccer does not define me, but it is a major part of the fabric that makes up the person I have become today. I am a student before an athlete, yet I have been playing soccer longer than I have been in school. I have been surrounded by soccer my whole life. I have one uncle that played professionally for 15 years, and my dad and other uncle were always involved in the sport. In fact, my dad was my first coach and, since that time, I have been fortunate to work with some of the finest coaches in the sport. Soccer has pushed me out of my comfort zone on many occasions, and has helped me develop as a person by exposing me to experiences to which I may not have otherwise been open.
As I look towards college, I hope to enter a program in Health Sciences or Medicine that will allow me the opportunity to work hands-on with children and their families. As far as a college soccer program goes, I would like a program that gives me the opportunity to balance both a competitive soccer schedule as well as a rigorous academic agenda. I am confident that I possess the talent as well as the conviction to achieve such a balance. As a varsity athlete and an unassuming leader on both my club and high school teams, I believe that I could make an immediate impact in the right college soccer program.
