Hi my name is Shealyn Baker, but most people call me Shea. I am currently in my Junior year at Cherokee High School in Canton, Georgia. My dream is to play soccer at a college that will challenge me both athletically and academically. I hope to have a coach that not only encourages me to be the best soccer player that i can be, but also aims to help the team grow as individuals outside of soccer.
For both my club and high school teams, I play holding and attacking midfield, but I am not limited to these positions. I am a very adaptable player and have played nearly every position on the field, including goalie. My strengths include being a strong attacker offensively, controlling the ball out of the air, switching the ball from point to point, and always hustling hard defensively.
In addition to my club training, I go to speed and agility training and take private lessons from a variety of coaches. I do this to continue to learn more about the game and improve my level of skill and fitness.
Ultimately, I am a team leader and always try to offer positive motivation to my teammates, on and off the field. I believe I am very coachable and receptive to constructive criticism. The qualities that I have as a student athlete are not only reflected on the field, but also in the classroom and in my community.
