Personal Statement

Hi coaches! My name is Brittany Ann Nozaki. Most of my teammates just call me Brittany. I am apart of the graduating class of 2023 at Pearl City Highschool. I have been playing soccer since the age of four and since then I have gathered a lot of leadership skills and communication skills from this sport over the years. I have switched between a few teams in my years of playing and this allowed me to experience what it was like to play with people i didn’t know.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • ODP No Kaoi
  • 6/11/22 to 6/13/22
  • College coaches came down and gave us the chance to be coached by them. We did some drills with a variety of coaches and in the end, we scrimmaged other age groups who were coached by different college coaches.
  • Camp/Event
  • OIA
  • 11/11/19 to 1/25/20
  • This was my Freshman High School season. We played with only 10 players the entire season (some games 8-9) and were able to make it to the finals. We overcame many challenges and adversities during the season and because of this I believe it has made me a stronger person. We played our hearts out all season and made it to the Championship game where we lost to Mililani. OC16 (local tv station) nicknamed our team "10 Strong" which we absolutely loved.
  • Camp/Event
  • Canada Barca Academy Tournament
  • 9/26/19 to 9/29/19
  • I got scouted at the Barcelona Camp at Iolani. In that camp, only two of us were picked in our age group to go up to Canada to play with other players from different states and countries. 3 total from Hawaii was chosen. We were then assigned to teams to play against Barcelona Academy Club Teams. On the team, I was the only girl put on an all-boys team and played against all-boys teams. It was a little different playing short and fast games on a very small field but i totally enjoyed it. I also learned a lot from the Barcelona Coaches and met a lot of people, some of whom I am still in contact with today. This was an experience I will never forget. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cj4IwSVJ8QPqxa7qgdBZMVygUPan_ai_x0tdTY0/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  • Camp/Event
  • Nationals AYSO
  • 6/17/19 to 6/21/19
  • Following our 2016 AYSO Nationals Championship, we entered this tournament with the goal of trying to compete with teams from all over the nation again. We represented U-14 in the finals as the only Pearl City team to make it to "the dance". We lost to Mililani and was 2nd place overall in the tournament. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cj4IwSVJ8QPqxa7qgdBZMVygUPan_ai_x0tdTY0/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  • Camp/Event
  • Barca Academy Camp
  • 6/10/19 to 6/13/19
  • One of only two girls in the age group competing against the boys in our age group. This ID Camp was held by Barca Academy where we performed numerals drills, agility test, and scrimmages on the 2 days.
  • Camp/Event
  • Delta CrossFire
  • 6/18/18 to 6/22/18
  • Played in this tournament with my HYSA Club Shockers. I didn't know what to expect but thought it might be like the AYSO Nationals where we have multiple games in a day. This was fun tournament with a lot of talented teams. We got to the semi-finals and lost in overtime. We placed 3rd overall playing against teams from all over the United States. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cj4IwSVJ8QPqxa7qgdBZMVygUPan_ai_x0tdTY0/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  • Camp/Event
  • Nationals AYSO
  • 7/07/16 to 7/11/16
  • Playing in 100 degree weather with 96% humidity was a first for me and a challenge for our whole team. But we battled through this and won the National title in this tournament. Playing against teams that were taller, faster, and stronger than us was the norm. But we played our hearts out and it showed. We only allowed 2 goals for this entire tournament. We were recognized on our local TV station KGMB Sunrise. A link to this is on the Athletics Section and here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT4Xi0nA_jI
  • Camp/Event
  • Rainbow Tournament, Islands Best, Kirk Banks
  • 6/09/14 to 7/19/18
  • Played in multiple of these tournaments since the age of 8.
