I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, and I have been playing competitive soccer since I was 9 years old. I have a true love of the game. My goal/aspiration is to play collegiate soccer and major in Biology.
Soccer is a team sport where you win together and lose together. There have been many occasions where someone could say that one player above all others is the reason for a team's success, but that one player relied on his or her teammates to help bring that success. So I place "team" ahead of "individual." I believe that it is important to work well with my teammates. I like to encourage them to play well and to train hard. I lead by example. By having a positive attitude, working hard, and making the right plays, I like to motivate my teammates to do the same. Also, the effort that I put in will rub off on them.
I work hard everyday to improve all areas of my game to become a better soccer player when I step on the field. I put it on myself to make a difference - to make that crucial pass for an assist, track back on defense to help out my teammates and win the ball, or score that game winning goal. I have excellent vision and strong technical skills. In addition, my strengths are creative style of play, passing, speed, agility, and athleticism.
Discipline is important on and off the soccer field. I like to commit myself to doing the right things, never take short cuts, and focus on getting the best out of today and tomorrow. I do not rely on people to determine my performance. I take responsibility for my performance. I do not dwell on my mistakes but rather learn from them. It is important that I keep looking to bring my game a step further. I have the willingness to learn, grow, and adapt. I am also coachable and I accept the feedback from coaches who are there to help me improve my game. I have an open mind and continue to learn as much as I can every time I step on the soccer field. I have the ambition and hunger to succeed!
As a student athlete, I am aware of the effect of my attitude, behavior, responsibilities that come with representing my school and my community. I understand that I am a student first and that my first priority is to obtain and maintain good grades in school. My grades reflect that I work hard to be the best student athlete that I could be!
