Maira Pena '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Maira Olivia Pena and i graduate in 2022. I aspire to be a pediatrician in the future. I've always been into the medical field since I was young. Not only was being a pediatrician such an interest at a young age but I have always been a competitive person. I've involved myself into so many sports throughout these years, But  the one sport I stuck with is soccer. soccer is not only just kicking a ball, it involves strategies and sportsmanship within your teammates. It teaches you how to communicate as a person in a team. it expands your mind into creating strategies in order to get to the other side of the field. What makes me different from other Recruits in character in soccer is that I tried to see the point of view from every player and tried to visualize a plan to get the ball on the other side of the field and try and help the forward players score, when doing this in a game that requires fast thinking. Now when it comes to academics,  I always create an easier and Quaker strategy for me to understand things if it is confusing.
