My name is Adrianna Gudaitis (most call me Addie) and I am a current junior, student-athlete at Lincoln-Way West High School. I have been playing for "West" at the varsity level since freshman year (although as a freshman I had few practices and no games due to Covid-19). I'm an attacking midfielder and have been a starter both sophomore and junior years. The remainder of the year, I play competitive club soccer for the Chicago Inter 05 Black team in defensive positions as well as midfielder positions. Our Inter team will compete in the National League and the new SCNSL events.
I am an extremely hard worker in the classroom and on the field. I take pride in everything I do and strive to achieve the best grades possible or contribute the most I can to help my teams reach our goals. Soccer has definitely taught me the importance of working together to achieve goals, dedication and determination. These things, coupled with helping others are very important to me, which is why I aspire to enter into healthcare as a nurse or nurse practitioner. I also believe this makes me a stronger player as I value the efforts that our team needs to make together to win a game. Honesty, trust, and perseverance are very important to me. These are things I hope to find in the classroom and on the field, and things I intend to give in the next chapters of my life.
Playing soccer has been a love of mine since I was about 4 years old when my mom signed me up for "Mom and Me" soccer through our park district. Throughout the years, I was involved in multiple sports both at school and outside of school. Basketball, volleyball, and track made that list, but soccer remained my #1. I competed at the state level in track for short-distance events, and my speed continues to shine on the soccer field. I have always dreamed of playing soccer at the college level with the support and encouragement from my mom and dad. After the passing of my father in February of this year, my passion continues to thrive and now, more than ever, I am determined to make him proud. He may not be my loudest fan on the sideline, but I know he is shining down on me and supporting me every step of the way.
My goal is to find a school with a strong nursing program where I will work hard for my future career, and a soccer team where my contributions can add to the team's success, make lifelong friends, and allow me to continue having fun on the field.
