My name is Katelyn Haiser and I am a hard-working, dedicated Forward from Plainfield, Illinois. I will be playing in the ECNL with Chicago Inter Soccer this year. Previously I played club soccer with Evolution SC in the ECNL and E64 RL, I also represent my high school on the Varsity soccer team at Plainfield North H.S., play futsal with Chicago House AC and this is my second year on the Illinois ODP State team and Midwest Regional Pool. I have a 5.55/5.0 weighted GPA (4.93 unweighted).
Like other athletes who have been playing their sport since kindergarten, I love the game and push myself to be the best player I can be. This includes performance and weight training in addition to my club team training, and participation in ODP to train and compete with the best players across the region. It has also led me to become a referee, so I can help kids in my community as they start off in the sport the same way I did.
Competition motivates me along with the feeling of being part of a team and helping to contribute to our success together. Personal goals have also kept me focused – to continuously improve my speed, versatility and creativity on the attack. I am also driven to improve when dealing with past failures, including my team’s loss this year in overtime in the State Cup Finals (our only loss last season). Playing against strong opponents helps me to become a better player so I look for opportunities to face more challenging levels of competition, including guest playing for my club's older age groups. This has also driven me to move to an ECNL team this year, to face stronger competition and continue to improve my level of play in preparation for playing at a high collegiate level.
I am looking for a school where I can balance between the field and classroom, being challenged both athletically and academically. Academics are very important for me, and as much as I push myself on the field, I do the same in the classroom by taking higher level Honors courses and AP courses to position myself for success in college and my future career.
