Playing soccer has been a big part of my life over the past few years. I started playing at a young age, though I began to take the sport more seriously a few years ago. I always look forward to playing games with my team, helping out other clubs, or even just going to practice. I was given the opportunity to go to Spain and play in the Barcelona Women's Cup and play against many professional teams in my age group. While in Spain, I trained with professional coaches and trainers, and at the end I played in a tournament. My team did very well for not being at the top level, we even beat a few professional teams. The results weren't perfect, but it was a great experience overall to be there and to play top level athletes and teams. It's always fun to win games, yet losing is also a very important factor because it always teaches me a lesson. It has taught me what I did good, but also what I need to improve at. Playing soccer has helped me to form a positive mentality whether we win or lose.
Academically, I have done very well. I believe athletics has contributed to my academic focus and success. It has taught me to manage my time and prioritize my tasks. I put a lot of effort into my grades, and I strive to get straight A's in the classes I take. In preparation for the future, I challenge myself by taking high level classes. I am currently in all honors and AP courses, and I am earning straight A's. I am looking for a school that has a good program that fits me both academically and athletically. I have the desire to continue playing soccer into college because I have a great passion for the game and it has shaped me into the person I am today.
