My name is Zara Powell and I have played soccer for more than ten years with the last eight played at the club soccer level where we have won division state championships. Our team competes at the state premier level.
I have been a member of the Indiana State Select ODP team for multiple years. I completed my final varsity high school season where I started at Center Back and earned Academic All-State and First-Team All-District honors while being named First-Team All-Conference, First Team All-Area, and earned the Most Valuable Player award for my team. I was also selected to participate in the Indiana All-District Showcase matches. I have had the opportunity to play multiple positions in my playing career but really enjoy the center defender position.
I have many interests off the field including show choir, orchestra, coaching youth soccer, and refereeing soccer. Academically I have a strong interest in the health sciences and am particularly interested in becoming a Physician's Assistant or pursuing a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. I currently rank 16 out of 525 in my class. I consider myself a very competitive person in anything I do. My goal is to play soccer where I can contribute to a competitive program at a university that offers top academic programs.
