Participating in soccer, obtaining great grades, and participating in state and national level horse show competitions takes a lot of sacrifice, commitment, drive, and dedication to make everything work - not only with scheduling and time management, but I also have to have a high level of dedication to ensure that when I agree to do something, I can commit 100%. Early on, I learned what it means to be a part of a team and that I would have to make important decisions in order to keep my commitments.
Soccer has been an important part of my life since I was 7, when I participated in recreational soccer, later transitioning to competitive/select level during my U9/U10 years. I have played on teams both with my own age group as well as playing up into older age groups, and have also played with teams in the MRL. I work very hard to make sure I am a good teammate, a good player, and provide a positive contribution to any team or activity that I am participating in.
I primarily play outside back or outside Midfield, but I have played in many other positions - wherever I am asked or needed to play, I play without question. I have good decision making skills, good footwork, and am an overall solid player in nearly every position. My goal as an athlete is to continue to grow as a player and to find the right fit for my skill level.
I am a two-year High School Varsity Player, and as a freshman, played in all games, starting in five, and scoring two goals. During my sophomore year, I started in 13 games, scoring six goals, and was awarded player of the game in two games. I have received Iowa Star Conference and IGHSAU Awards for academics in both my freshman and sophomore years. I am a two year letter winner in both soccer and academics.
Academically, my goal is to further my education in Biology or Animal Science, and later attend Veterinary School, while also being a college athlete. I want go to a school where I can be a part of a team where I can make an impact, and where I can make a positive contribution to the team, both on and off the field.
I have worked very hard in the classroom and on and off the field to be the most well-rounded person I can be. Athletics are very important to me, but I do know how important Academics are to my future and have always taken this very seriously, which shows in my grades and test scores. Life has taught me how to be responsible, reliable, dedicated, committed, and how to be a better person both on and off the field. I am a person that you can count on to always be present and put my best foot forward.
