I am a Junior at Basehor Linwood High School. Currently, I am taking all honors classes, and plan to continue this pathway. My favorite courses are the ones that challenge me such as Honors and College level classes. I have studied Spanish I and II for the past two years and this year I will be doing College Spanish in order to further develop my skills. I believe you should be multilingual in our current society. I have maintained a 3.9 GPA throughout my Freshman and Sophomore year. I am a member of the Basehor Linwood Science Olympiad team, student council, National Honors Society, Principals Advisory Council, and Diversity Club. I am looking for a college that challenges me academically, as well as students who will challenge me. I am looking for a well-rounded Pre-med/BioChem program because after college I plan to go into Medical School to become a Dermatologist.
I have loved playing soccer since I was three when I played at the YMCA. I started playing club soccer when I was nine and have been a starting goalkeeper since then at Academy and Pre-Academy level. I played for the Kansas ODP 05 and 04 teams in 2017-2019. I stopped playing ODP, because I am on two soccer teams, and overall do not have the time for it. The past three years I have played on the 05 Fusion Academy team, playing Forward and Goalkeeper. I am the starting Varsity goalkeeper at Basehor-Linwood High School. Freshman year I received an Honorable Mention from my conference. My sophomore year I also received the Honorable Mention, even though I only played goalkeeper for six games due to a wrist injury. I played as a right wing and middle back during my injury. It has always been my dream to play soccer at the collegiate and professional level. My preferred play style is a fast-paced team that builds out of the back. On the weekends I referee soccer games to better understand the laws of the game, and to give back to the local soccer league. I won the Kansas KeeperWars Ink Invitational in November 2021 and have been invited to nationals this summer.
Outside of school I enjoy reading and exercise. On average I read 1-2 books a week. Because of this I am looking for a college with a beautiful, old library to study in. I currently do CrossFit and personal training 5-6 times a week. I also compete in powerlifting through my school. Pre-covid I participated in 4-H since I was four years old. I showed livestock as well as arts, crafts, and baking. I volunteer through my church with Bridges of Hope to feed the homeless, and with Harvesters through school civics classes. Most recently I volunteered with Heart to Heart to make hygiene bags for people who are suffering in Ukraine.
