I have always tried to be a positive influence on and off the field. My college goals are no different. I want to lead my college team to a better record than they have ever held, make an impact in the classroom with my peers and try to better the community in which I will live. I am definitely a team player who believes in getting my entire team involved in the game, but also know when I need to push us over the hurdle for the win.
Soccer has taught me so many things about life. Being a smaller player on the field taught me I had to work that much harder to win balls, stay up on my feet and go forward. I couldn't rely on my size and speed like other players. I had to develop my skills and strength. I am a feisty, fast player who also has foot skills to help my 1v1s on the field. I am an extremely versatile player who can play anywhere on the field. Defense is my first love and has taught me a vision of the field, which has allowed me to play everywhere. There is nothing like the feeling of stopping someone from scoring, except for the sound of a ball hitting the back of net when it leaves my cleat.
I have put in many hours to keep my grades at a 4.07 GPA, while consistently improving my game. It doesn't come easy to me. I firmly believe that if you have to work hard to improve at skills than you will appreciate the result more than the person next to you. I know I have to earn everything I get. I wake up every morning knowing the day will be long and hard. Before school extra curricular activities, classroom, school sports, travel soccer practice. Homework done in the car. This is the dedication it takes to get me to the next level in my academics and my athletic goals. I am not just a soccer athlete. I highly believe other sports help my soccer game. I swim for my high school team during the winter months to improve my overall strength and endurance. I play golf in the summer to help my mental strength get tougher. Crossfit is part of my regular strength routine as well, teaching me to set goals every week and work tirelessly to achieve them. Taking challenging academic classes also helps push me towards my goal of going into the Medical field.
Character is important to me. I am a team player. I am proud of my character on and away from the field. I know I will be an exceptional asset to my future college and team.
