I play forward as my main positions for LA TDP (GA). I play outside forward, attacking mid, and holding mid as well. My main position on my high school team is attacking mid. I also play forward, outside forward and holding mid at the varsity level. Those are the positions that I play now, but I know that may change in college so I try to learn more about other positions as often as possible. However, one thing that will never change about the way I play soccer are my three rules.
What are the three rules, Elise?
This is the question I am asked before every game. Since age 4, when I laced my first cleat, hair in two ponytails, playing on what would soon become the (almost) all boys team... the answer was always: Play Hard. Have Fun. Be a Good Sport.
When I started playing competitive at the age of 10, the answer was always: Play Hard. Have Fun. Be a Good Sport.
When I started with my High School Varsity Team at 13, the answer remained: Play Hard. Have Fun. Be a Good Sport.
When I join my college team, the answer will still be: Play Hard. Have Fun. Be a Good Sport.
Play Hard - because my team deserves all I've got, and I'm only satisfied after a game when I know I truly gave it my all win or loss.
Have Fun - I play soccer because I love the game and the friends I make along the way.
Be a Good Sport - Stay humble with a win, and keep composure with a loss.
