Katarina (Kat) Kern '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I am Kat Kern, and I am part of the 2023 graduating class of St. Scholastica Academy. My love for soccer began on the playground playing with my friends. When I was nine, I was invited to try out for a competitive soccer team, and I made the team. The obstacle I faced was feeling like I was behind in my skills because my teammates had already been playing soccer for five years. This did not stop me, instead it encouraged me to work harder.

I have played soccer at Madisonville United for six years and at Mandeville Soccer Club for two years. I have also played soccer for St. Scholastica Academy since the eighth grade. I made varsity my sophomore year and varsity starter my junior year. I am a versatile player and can adapt to any position as needed. However, my favorite positions to play are center forward & outside back.

I am captain of my club team because I am a strong leader and a fast and aggressive player. I lead through my actions on and off the field and always encourage my teammates. I enjoy training and conditioning to improve my soccer intelligence and skills. I am very coachable and work hard to achieve personal and team goals. I also take pride in working hard to maintain my high GPA and always make my education the top priority!
