Personal Statement

UPDATE: 11/26/23

My name is Bryleigh Taylor, and I am from Bourg, Louisiana. At the moment I am currently a sophomore attending Delta State University. I am a part of the women’s soccer program here at Delta State as a forward/winger but would consider myself a utility player having in my past played mid, defender, and forward. After two good years here at Delta State, I have decided to hit the transfer portal to further my soccer career and education elsewhere for a better step and look into my future. I decided to hit the transfer portal in hopes of taking the next step in my future as a soccer player. Here are some things that I have accomplished during my time in high school and my last two years in college. During my high school career, I attended Houma Christian School in Houma Louisiana. During my high school years, I have had many successes leading up to the player I am today. During my sophomore year of high school, I was a forward and winger with 18 goals and 12 assists. I made 1st team All-District and 2nd team All-State. In my junior year of high school, I was a forward with 28 goals and 10 assists with the honor of being named 1st team All-District and 1st team All-State. I was also nominated multiple times for the Barker Honda Player of the Week. In my senior year of high school, I was a forward with 38 goals and 10 assists. I was also honored with receiving 1st team All-District and 1st team All-State. I was also named MVP within my district and was given the opportunity to play in the All-Star game at the end of the season with multiple talented players in the state of Louisiana. During my senior year of high school, I was nominated multiple times for the Barker Honda Player of the Week award and won. During my college experience, I found myself improving and learning new things about myself and how to become an overall better player, I believe that even with success in the past a player could always improve. During my freshman year of college, I played as a forward and winger. I used my freshman year as an opportunity to improve as a player on a collegiate level. In my sophomore year of college, I saw my hard work paying off earning a starting spot in 8 games. I played in 16 out of 17 games due to concussion protocol for one game. I played 542 minutes this season. If I could describe myself as a player in three words, I would say I am hard-working, driven, and determined. I want what's not only best for me but for whatever team I am playing on. I am hard working on and off the field not only as an athlete but as a student as well. My GPA consists of a 3.5 and throughout my high school career with a 3.7 GPA. I am driven and determined to be the best version of myself and will do anything I have to do to be that best version of myself.

Here attached are my soccer highlights from high school and college. I am number 12 and 2.

My name is Bryleigh Taylor. Senior Class of 22  at Houma Christian. I transferred here from Central Lafourche High School my Sophomore year.  I hold a 3.7 GPA. I love being active in school and outside of school. I have played many sports throughout the years. I have been a part of my middle school's Volleyball, basketball, and track team. I also played for CL’s softball team.

I am a starter on the school's varsity soccer team.  My passion is soccer. I have been playing since I was 4 years old. At age 8 I began travel soccer. I’m currently a utility player on our travel team. Where I’m needed is where I go. Defense, mid, wing, forward I have played them all except goalie. My travel team has won many tournaments and 4 state titles. In my Freshman year at CLHS,  I started on JV as a midfielder and played as a sub on our varsity team which went to state. This year I played mostly forward and completed my season as top scorer.

I was picked for second team Freshman All-State in our district for Varsity in 2019 And First team All-District my Sophomore year. My team made it to the Semi-Finals and lost after two very intense overtimes by 1 goal

With CLHS I went to a camp in Mississippi. I was 1 of 4 girls chosen from my school to play in the All-Star game at camp. In 2019 I attended the Dallas Texas Exact camp on July 27th. There I met many coaches who taught me skills to take me to the next level.

In sophomore year  I was nominated for Barker Honda Player of the Week and received First Team All-District

Junior,  I was nominated 5 times for the Barker Honda Player of the Week. I finished my season with 28 goals and 12 assists. I was chosen First Team All-District and First Team All-State! I am currently working with a personal trainer at TGMC Sports Performance they also work with the soccer girls from LSU in the summer.

Senior Year broke the school's record for most goals scored receiving these goals in my 3 seasons with the team totaling 87 goals. I was named First Team All-District, and Second Team All-State. I was one of 3 girls chosen to play in the All-American Senior Game from the Lafourche/Terrebonne parish area. I was Nominated every week for Barker Honda Player of the Week and Won my senior year! I was voted the district's MVP as well as receiving the offensive MVP award at HCS.

I was chosen to play on a travel Showcase team. We are traveling to Las Vegas, FL, La, TX, Al, and GA. areas.

I have a love and passion for the game and hope to continue to grow and learn over the next few years. With these skills, I’m hoping to play soccer in college while working towards a degree in Sports medicine or hearing and speech therapist. Thank you for checking out my profile. I look forward to hearing from you.

Blessings,

Bryleigh Taylor
