Riley Morris '16 Recruiting Profile

       My name is Riley Morris. I first began playing soccer when my father introduced me to the sport at a young age. He has coached me for a large portion of my early soccer years and I've loved the game ever since. I currently play year-around soccer, taking on both high school and my RPL level club team. My club team is currently ranked 2nd in the state. I am also happy to announce that we have officially won our league for the state, as well as 2nd in the state overall. Soccer means a lot to me of course, but so does my family, my faith, and even my community where I'm involved with several local service programs. With both a younger and older brother, I learned early on that you have to look out for the wellness of others, as well as, if not before, your very own, and I carry this altruistic mentality every time I step onto the pitch with my team.
   Through playing soccer, I've learned a lot about myself: My strengths, my weaknesses, and what I have to offer for those around me. I am supportive, encouraging, and motivating, constantly picking up my teammates. I am more than capable of overcoming adversity and am, overall, an unselfish player. I like to think of myself as smart and very coachable, always open to new ideas and I constantly demand only the best out of myself. Having suffered from previous ankle injuries and a concussion, getting back on my feet wasn't exactly the easiest. With therapy and immense determination, I managed to overcome these obstacles and use them as tools to only make me stronger both physically and mentally as a player. I plan on finishing high school with a GPA of 3.2/4.0 or higher and graduating college with a degree in Biology/Chemistry. Not only do I plan on achieving these academic goals, but I plan on achieving athletic goals as well: Taking my play to the next level and further pursuing my passion and love for the game we know as soccer.
