Sports have played a very important role in my life, I started playing when I was just five years old. Throughout elementary and middle school I've played soccer, softball, and basketball. Since then, I have spent most of my time focusing on soccer and softball. I have been playing both sports year round for the last few years and will continue to do so for the remainder of my high school career.
All of the sports that I've played have helped me learn and shape me into who I am today. I've learned so many things from sports that I can use both on and off the field. I've learned things like: team work, problem solving, knowing when and how to have a positive mind set, how to up lift up teammates and/or friends, self discipline, setting goals, and being patient. Lastly, some of the most important skills that I've learned are hard work and dedication.
I've spent many hours working on things such as speed, movement, and foot skills. I've dedicated many hours to my team(s) by cheering them on, taking on a leadership role on/off the field, and giving 100% to whatever the coaches and team(s) needed me to do. Playing on multiple teams throughout the years has taught me how to get along with people in various settings.
I grew up playing recreation, school, and travel soccer. Today I continue to play soccer year round competitively for my High School Varsity team, year round for a premier soccer club, as well as in an indoor league in the winter.
I continue to challenge myself to be the best player that I can be. I was the second leading goal scorer as a freshman, and leader in assists. My sophomore year I was the leading goal scorer for my team and was named honorable mention in my conference. I will continue to push myself to excel the remainder of my high school career both athletically and academically. So far in my Junior season we have played 8 games, and scored 26 goals as a team. I contributed 10 of those goals and several assists.
My academic goals are to be in the top three of my class, make high honors every year, and taking as many AP/Honors classes as possible, all while narrowing down my preferred career path. I am leaning towards a career in education with a minor in history. I am currently a teacher's assistant for an underclassmen course and I am taking college classes.
I was selected this year to be the school board representative, I am in the National Honor Society, and I joined the civil rights team this year.
I am excited to continue to play soccer and pursue post secondary play and academics.
