Hello coaches!
My name is Savana Caligiuri, I’m from Winnipeg Manitoba and soccer is my passion. I am a very dedicated, focused and confident player with strong work ethics. I train very hard on a daily basis with my club and varsity school teams along with being a player of the Regional Excel Program in my province.
I started the REX Program 4 years ago and have loved it ever since. It’s a very positive environment I thrive on with other highly skilled individuals that push me to better myself and my skills. I am privileged to compete and play with athletes that are older than me and have more experience in the game. I love being challenged and pushed out of my comfort zone as I feel it makes me a better player. In 2020, I was invited to try-out for the Manitoba Rex combine team and unfortunately got cut, but with persistence and hard work the following season I was invited into the program and have been a top player for them ever since and have now been invited to the National Development Centre Competition to get scouted by Super REX (NDC) Coaches!
My hard work and dedication has led me to one of the biggest highlights of my soccer accomplishments, playing for Team Manitoba in the 2022 Canada Summer Games. On this team I was the youngest player being 14 years old competing with girls up to 4 years older than me. This experience taught me a lot of things including where I could improve as a player as well as what makes me a threat on the field. Coaches have described me as a resilient and persevering player with excellent ball control and exceptional speed, these are just a few of my strong suits.
Ever since I started playing soccer my goal has been to play at a college/university level and in part continue my academic studies. Academically, I have grades 90s and above (95% average) with a high GPA and enjoy my studies. My grades are and will always be just as important as my skills on the pitch.
Overall, soccer has been a big part of my life and I believe that college/university is the next level I want to reach in order to pursue my soccer journey! Thank you for reading.
