I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old. My biggest inspiration has been my older brother Derek. My toddler years were spent traveling from practice to games; watching my older brothers play various sports. I especially enjoyed watching Derek play soccer. His dedication to perfecting his skills was an inspiration to me then and continues to encourage me to always be my best.
One of my greatest accomplishments playing soccer, was being pulled up to the Chopticon Varsity team as a freshman. I scored a goal during the one of the playoff games.
Some of the difficulties that I have had to endure is not being able to perfect a move and not having the best ball control. It was during these moments, I referred to the example my older brother set. I learned that if I never give up, continue to practice consistently and believe in myself, there is not much that I won’t achieve.
My academic goals during high school is to complete a certificate program in the Academy of Health Professions at our local technical school. After high school, I plan to pursue a degree to become a Physical Therapist with a specialization in sports medicine.
My unique characteristics are that I am willing to give whatever is necessary to succeed, I recognize that no matter how good I am or become, there is always much more that I can learn from others and that I am not intimidated by my competitors.
