Growing up, being the youngest of four, has pushed me to keep up with my siblings. I was forced to be more competitive and to strive to be the best at everything I do. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always played soccer. I started off as goalie, transitioned to striker, midfield, and eventually to defense which has been my home for the last 6 years or more. In both Club and High School ball, I have excelled at every position I have been asked to play. If I was asked to play a new position, I didn’t ask why. I just put on that hat for the day and did it. With the help of my coaches, past and present, they have taught me the skills, learning techniques and discipline to be a good soccer player and teammate. My strengths are corner kicks, penalty kicks, but more importantly, my sportsmanship. Growing up, I spent my younger years training in Taekwondo. I obtained balance, physical and emotional fitness, endurance, and power. Taekwondo has helped me gain a stronger foot and calm demeanor on and off the field. I am in my sophomore year at George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology. I attend the Visual Arts program. As a sophomore, I was awarded “Unsung Hero” by my varsity coach. I achieved this award by being a team player, a leader, but most importantly by accepting and meeting every challenge head on. When I am not in the classroom, I am playing Varsity Soccer, Club Ball, drawing or just being a kid and making films. I work hard to achieve Honor Roll every quarter and I make it my top priority to improve my academic and athletic abilities. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve dreamed about going to college to build a career. I still feel the same way to this day. I want to excel at being a sports medicine major and hopefully becoming a sports medicine physician. I am a student-athlete with a lot of determination and ambition. I can't wait to see what the future holds for me on the field and in the classroom.
