I would love to have the chance to play soccer on either a Division 1 or Division 2 team while furthering my academic studies. I pretty much played soccer my whole life and I cannot imagine not playing it after high school. I was once told that my only personality was soccer. That angered me but deep down, that person was right. I love the sport. Like every other little girl, I wanted to be Alex Morgan when I got older. Now, I enjoy when the younger kids come to my high school games and then recognize me out at our local ice cream or pizza shop as "Catherine from the girls varsity team".
I have been a captain for my club team for the past 2 years. I earned that title because I stay focused at every practice, and I don't let the socializing during line drills or on the sidelines distract me. I stay positive during every aspect of the game. We are all on the same team, and we can only grow to be a stronger team if we work together and pass the ball and talk to each other on the field. As a center-back, I have the job to move my mid-fielders and talk to the other players on the field.
