Hi, my name is Madeleine Young and I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old. Ever since I was little, soccer has been the main focus in my life and has always been there for me to fall back on. I remember the thrill of winning and being on a team, and it is what has driven me to try my hardest every single day. This has also affected my academic life because I always strive to be my best, and then a little more. Due to this, I have maintained all A's and have learned a lot in school. In the past few years, I have found an interest in coding, and that drive towards success has powered my own education in the Computer Science area.
Throughout my career I have realized that I am a team player since I love to make passes to help my teammates get scoring opportunities and I am an overall unselfish player. This has given me a great vision of the whole field from a young age, which has made me very successful as a midfielder. Additionally, I work endlessly on my technical ability, which is one of the reasons why my passing abilities, as well as my shots, are so strong. Playing at multiple levels of intensity, like for my town travel team, high school, and for NEFC (my club team) has given me lots of experience in different settings. With NEFC, I have competed in multiple national tournaments and hope to help my team win nationals in the future. All of these components have helped with my style of play and soccer IQ.
It was always my goal to play for my high school team, but now that I have started that, I want to strive for more, which would be college soccer! I believe that I could make a huge impact for the whole team through my vision of the field, confidence with the ball, and calmness in stressful situations. It's my dream to become a college soccer player, and thank you for taking your time to read about me!
