I was a 3-year varsity player and a 1-year junior varsity/varsity swing. I was a starter on JV and was brought up to varsity games at the end of the season. In the 2018 JV season, I had 15 goals and seven assists. I was my team's leading scorer, and because of my hard work and skill on the field, I was brought up to Varsity at the end of the season. In the 2019 season, I made Varsity as a sophomore and an on-and-off starter. I scored five goals and two assists, leading my team again. In the 2020 season, I made Varsity again as a junior, and I got that starting spot, starting 8 of the 12 games my team played. In the 2020 season, I focused on my game and my team's game, which meant doing anything for the team. I played left/right wing forward, but my team plays our wing forwards come back to defend in compact, less so that is what I did, and this benefited our team, the team only letting in 9 goals all season and coming in 2nd place for our league's division. I constantly push myself and my teammates to improve; I started all 18 goals in my senior season, scoring 13 goals and seven assists.

Quote from Hockomock Sports:
"Mansfield senior Tarynn Smith had the best scoring season of her three-year varsity career, finding the back of the net 13 times and assisting on six other goals. Her 19 points were tops on the teams and in the top 10 in the league. Smith also came up with important goals, including an equalizer at Oliver Ames and a goal in the playoff win against Canton. She also had a knack for finding the back of the net from long-range, scoring several goals from well outside the box. She was selected as an Honorable Mention for all-star by the Hockomock League coaches. Mansfield coach Kevin Smith said, "Tarynn can shoot from anywhere inside 40 yards with either foot."
