Personal Statement

My name is Colleen Curran, and I am a wide forward 2027 transfer with two years left of eligibility.

One of my strengths on the field is my speed. I can quickly create opportunities in the attacking-third, whether its beating defenders one on one, shooting from any range, or crossing into teammates from the wing with my left foot. I am also calm under pressure and understand effective defensive strategy.

I also compete for my college’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams. This has helped me to expand on my speed and strength during the off-season. I compete in multiple event groups, and hold school records in the heptathlon, 400m hurdles, 4x200m relay, and the 4x400m relay. Last season, I was named the GNAC “Rookie of the Week” two times, a member of the All-GNAC Championship 4x400m and 4x100m teams, and helped our program win the 2024 Outdoor GNAC Championship. I was  awarded the Coaches Award at the end of the season. For my athletic achievements throughout the year I was also awarded the Outstanding Freshman Female Athlete of the Year by the Regis College athletic department.

My dedication to being the best is proven on and off the field. Throughout high school I was a top student, involved in many different clubs and organizations. I have continued this throughout college as well, with all my activities listed in the resume attached to this page. Despite being a dual sport athlete with a rigorous schedule, I have also maintained a 4.0 GPA while studying neuroscience on a pre-medicine track.

When I envision the rest of my college experience, soccer is a crucial part of it. I am currently evaluating opportunities to be a part of a community that values both academic and athletic excellence. As a natural competitor, I hope to be in an environment that challenges me to develop into a better athlete, student, and person. However, with that in mind, I’d like to be in a positive, supportive team atmosphere where we encourage each other to be the best we can be. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile, and I look forward to speaking with you soon!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
