I’ve been playing soccer since I was three years old and have always known that I wanted to play in college. Being a starting player on my high school varsity team freshman year was when I began to realize how much the sport means to me. I was nervous before every game and felt so much pressure from everyone around me. I was used to being one of the best on the fields and that year I had barely made a starting spot. I worked hard and learned to trust myself and be confident in my abilities. Towards the end of the season I became more of an impact player and I greatly improved. This sport has taught me how to be a leader, how to fight for my goals, and how to pick myself up from failure to achieve greater success.
Both academically and athletically I love to challenge myself. I pride myself on my growth mindset, and I look at every mistake or failure as an opportunity for growth. I am a coachable athlete, I take every comment and criticism seriously and am constantly working to improve myself. I know that I would be a valuable member of your team not only because of my athletic capabilities, but because of my positive attitude towards all obstacles that come my way and my competitive spirit deep within me.
