My name is Julianna Latimer. I am a senior at Kettering High School in Waterford, Michigan. I have been playing soccer since I was 7 years old. My goals and aspirations for college are to attend a 4 year college or university where I can continue to play the sport that I love, soccer, and achieve a degree that will put me on a path to a lifelong career. I am looking for a place to call home while I am attending school with a supportive school environment and a coach who motivates his/her players to be the best they can be as part of a team. I hope to find a place where I can spend all 4 years surrounded by new friends, professors, coaches and administrators who care about me and the future that I am working towards.
What makes me different from other recruits is that I have spent years trying to be the best, well rounded, individual that I can be. I have worked hard to balance home life, travel soccer, school, 4H, friendships, and a job while in high school. It has taught me to prioritize and value hard work. It has also taught me to how to make some very difficult choices in order to keep myself engaged and committed to my future plans and dreams.
I have been taking advanced and AP classes since 8th grade. Because of this, I am able to work a coop job in my senior year with a reduced class schedule yet still meeting graduation requirements. This has given me the growth opportunity of being a member of the work force so I can more fully understand the value of money and the hard work needed to earn it. I feel that this has given me an advantage over some of my peers in helping to round out and balance my life currently.
