Hi, my name is Chloe Douglas. I am a freshman at Elko High School in Elko, NV and I was a starter for the Junior Varsity team and also played in several varsity games. I usually play as a left outside back, but I am versatile and can play other positions such as center back, right wing, and forward positions. I have been playing soccer since I was five and I have loved every minute of it. I love the strategy of the game and how each game presents a new challenge. Once the game starts it's hard to get me to stop. I love that soccer is a team sport and everyone must work as a unit to be successful. Teams that are on the same page and see the plays are the teams I like to watch or be a part of. I am a teammate that always tries to communicate so that my team know what is going on and what needs to happen. I try to stay as calm and positive as possible even in high stress situations on and off the field. I'm someone who can react and recover quickly in times of stress in the game.
My goals for college are a bit uncertain right now, but I think I want to get a degree in some sort of biology. I also know that I want to play soccer in college because that will give me so many opportunities to broaden my experience and allow me to continue playing the game I love. Academics and getting good grades are important to me. I was previously in the Junior Honors Society for my eighth grade year. As a freshman I am enrolled in three honors classes, which would normally be taken as a sophomore or junior. I strive to learn as much as I can and am willing to put in extra time to manage my busy school and soccer schedule. Like on the field, when in the classroom I'm always someone my classmates can count on to help them when they need.
During the off season, I train and play with my club team, Elko Indar. I have been a part of this club for five years. I have also been selected to the Northern Nevada ODP travel team for the last two years. I started and played as a left back in the 2022 Farwest ODP Championship tournament and will play again in 2023. When I am not playing soccer I enjoy playing inline hockey and swimming for the swim team to stay in shape and keep me feeling at my best. I am a hard working athlete in all of my athletic activities and I'm very coachable. I tend to catch on to what I'm being taught and I learn quickly from my mistakes.
